WHO I AM & What I Do
Hi, I'm David. My journey to becoming a Sports Massage and Soft Tissue Therapist has been a bit unconventional. After 17 years in the demanding world of mechanical engineering, I realised I was craving a career that was more aligned with my passion for health and wellness.
That's when I decided to make a major life change. I'm currently retraining as an Osteopath at the University College of Osteopathy (graduating in 2026!), but I couldn't wait to start helping people feel their best. So, I also dove headfirst into soft tissue therapy training at the highly regarded North London School of Sports Massage, and I haven't looked back since. Now, I'm combining my analytical background with my love of movement to help people overcome pain and achieve their physical goals.
The deeper understanding I have from all my training informs my work at my clinic in Soma House Wellness (High Wycombe), where I treat a wide range of clients – from professional athletes to those simply seeking relief from everyday aches and pains.
I have a particular interest in helping people who suffer from TMJ-related pain. Often, tension in the jaw and surrounding muscles can be significantly eased through targeted massage techniques, and I've seen firsthand how this can improve people's quality of life.
I believe in a holistic approach that considers all aspects of a person's well-being. By combining techniques like sports and deep tissue massage, trigger point therapy, and myofascial release, I aim to identify the root cause of your discomfort and create a tailored treatment plan that delivers lasting results.
My experience working with elite athletes, including Wycombe Wanderers FC, GB Softball, Tottenham Hotspur Ladies FC, and the Scotland Women's National Team, has given me a unique perspective on injury prevention and performance enhancement. But whether you're a high-level athlete or just starting your fitness journey, I'm committed to providing the same level of care and attention.
When I'm not in the clinic, you'll usually find me pushing my limits at my local CrossFit box, exploring new coffee shops (a good flat white is still my weakness!), or indulging in delicious food – I believe in balance, after all!
